Campus Mondial de la Mer is an approach aimed at achieving "blue growth": the sustainable development of marine economy.
This initiative is jointly led by the community of marine science and technology in Western Brittany, under the initiative of Brest métropole océane: Europole Mer, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, and the Technopôle Brest-Iroise. It gathers together universities and engineering schools, companies, national research centres as well as local and regional authorities.
The ambition is to make the tip of Brittany the world’s MAJOR centre for the study of oceans and seas and their constructive enhancement.
The Campus Mondial de la Mer will capture markets with strong potential through coordinated action based on promoting research, connecting laboratories and companies, increasing the value of research, and helping SME's in their development and internationalization.
The Campus Mondial de la Mer aims to take up the challenge of the sustainable development of humanity through knowledge and by protecting and enhancing the value of marine resources.
